Fundraising Ideas
Thank you for supporting this event and children with disabilities. Your support makes a daily difference in the lives of these children and their families.
Here are some other great ideas of how you can raise money and have fun doing it!
1. Guess the age of your boss:
Organize an event in which co-workers pay to guess the age of your boss – just make sure you’ve done the proper due diligence in advance!
2. Baby pictures:
Get your co-workers to bring in their baby pictures and set up a contest to see who gets the most right!
3. “In Lieu”:
Instead of receiving a gift on your birthday, Father’s Day, Mother’s Day or other occasion, ask your family and friends to make a pledge to you for Bike for Tykes! What a great cause!

Ways to increase awareness of your commitment to Bike for Tykes
Try to get the first pledge on your form (even if it’s your own) to be a significant one – set the bar high!
- Change your voice mail and answering machine to include your participation in the Bike for Tykes
- Create e-mail signatures or return address labels that state: “I’m participating in Bike for Tykes on Wednesday, June 24th, which raises money for Bloorview Kids Rehab, Canada’s largest children’s rehabilitation hospital. All donations are welcome!”
- Send an email from your personal page to solicit donations from family and friends.
- Create rolling screen saver at work as subtle reminder of your commitment to participate in the event.
- Post an email on your company’s ‘Announcements’ bulletin board. Put up a Bike for Tykes poster in the lunch or meeting room
- Be sure to check with your employer to see if it has a matching program for charitable donations.
